VIRU KEKULU PRE SCHOOL, PANAGODA JOYFULLY UNFOLDS WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY - 2024

To celebrate World Children’s Day under the theme “Let’s protect children – treat them equally,” a special event for Viru Kekulu Pre School, Panagoda was held at the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Auditorium on Tuesday (01st).

The event was organized under the guidance of Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, the Lady In Charge of the preschool, and Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces (West). The event began with a heartfelt welcome speech from one of the children, followed by a vibrant array of performances showcasing the talents of the preschoolers. The World Children’s Day program aimed to underscore the collective responsibility of the global community in safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring their well-being.

The event’s activities were aimed to create a meaningful experience for the children, who are poised to shape the future of our nation. The event was made even more memorable through generous sponsorship from Bank of Ceylon – Homagama, Maliban Biscuits, and La Foresta Private Limited, ensuring a joyful experience for all the children. Gifts and educational materials were distributed among all children, ensuring that each child left with a smile and a token of the celebration.

During the course of this event, Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, the Lady In Charge of the preschool, emphasized the significance of nurturing and empowering children, reminding everyone’s responsibility to play their vital roles in society. Major General Lanka Amarapala also highlighted the commitment of the community to safeguarding the children’s rights and ensuring a bright future for them. The event culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by a kid, while expressing gratitude to the sponsors, preschool staff, teachers, and all participants.

This celebration not only brought joy to the children but also reinforced the community’s commitment to creating a nurturing environment for their growth and future success. The Deputy Commander Security Forces (West) Major General Y A B M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Brigadier General Staff Brigadier B P G K Balasooriya RSP psc and Staff Officers from Security Forces (West) also participated for this program.
