The Commander Security Forces (West), Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, made his maiden visit to the 144 Infantry Brigade and 141 Infantry Brigade on Tuesday (3rd).
The Commander Security Forces (West) was warmly welcomed by Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP, the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division, Major General K A U Kodituwakku RSP USP psc IG, the Deputy General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division and Brigadier M K D P Mapalagama psc, the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade on his arrival at the camp premises and soon after that comprehensive briefing on the role, tasks, and current situation of the Area of Responsibility were briefed by the Commander, 144 Infantry Brigade.
Thereafter, Major General Lanka Amarapala visited the 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry where the Commander Security Forces (west) was honoured with a drive-pass. After formalities, he attended an all ranks tea, providing an opportunity to interact with the Officers and Other Ranks of 144 Infantry Brigade.
Subsequently, the Commander Security Forces (West) visited the 141 Infantry Brigade, where he was honoured with a drive-pass. Brigadier R R De S Dharmawickrema RSP, the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade welcomed Major General Lanka Amarapala and briefed him about their role and tasks. The Commander Security Forces (West) signed the Visitors’ Book to mark this special occasion and visited the 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry to conclude the visit, where he was honoured with a drive-pass. The Commander Security Forces (West) appreciated the commitment of the troops for their service in both past and present scenarios.
