Under the esteemed leadership of Major General SWM Fernando RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (West), the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights, and Humanitarian Law took the initiative to organize a lecture at the Army Gymnasium Panagoda on 16 August 2024. The session, led by Attorney-at-Law Mr. KS Harshan Perera, was attended by 50 officers and 1400 other rankers from the under-command divisions, Brigades, affiliated Battalions, and regimental centers within the Army Cantonment Panagoda.
The lecture addressed various topics, including timely challenges, strategies for overcoming them, the expected behavior of Army personnel during election periods, and issues related to illegal drugs and activities. At the end of the lecture, participants had the opportunity to clarify their legal problems, which was a great chance for the Officers and men of the SFHQ (West). Further, Brigadier BPGK Balasooriya RSP psc, representing the Security Forces (West), presented a token of appreciation to the lecturer.
