MAJOR GENERAL KHMS WIKRAMARATNE RSP ASSUMES COMMAND AT 61 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General KHMS Wikramarathne RSP officially assumed his duties as the new General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, stationed under the Security Force Headquarters (West). The ceremony commenced with religious blessings at the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters in Boossa on 24 April 2024.

Upon his arrival, Major General Wikramarathne RSP was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers and honored with a Guard Turnout presented by troops from 2 (V) Gamunu Watch. Subsequently, he symbolically signed an official document marking the commencement of his responsibilities in his new office.

Addressing all Officers and Other Ranks in accordance with military protocol, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding shared his vision for the Division's future. Notable attendees at the ceremony included the Deputy General Officer Commanding, all Brigade Commanders, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Admin and Quartering of 61 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers of under command battalions of 61 Infantry Division, as well as staff officers and Other Ranks.
