8 SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY REGIMENT WINS GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING CHALLENGE TROPHY

With the blessing of Commander Security Forces Headquarter (West) and under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, 14 Infantry Division hosted its 14 Infantry Division General Officer Commanding Challenge Trophy Softball Cricket Tournament from 26 March 2024 to 02 April 2024 featuring the participation of 16 teams representing under command Brigades and Battalions. Following the 14 preliminary matches, the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment team and 18 Sri Lanka National Guard Regiment team advanced to the finals.

General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division grace the occasion as the chief guest and 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment team secured the championship amidst an exciting game held at the Kandalanda Playground on 02 April 2024.
