The 13th Commander of the 141 Infantry Brigade, Colonel R R De S Dharmawickrema RSP of Gemunu Watch, assumed office on 29 February 2024, amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the Brigade Headquarters in Veyangoda.
The day's itinerary began with a Guard turnout by troops from the 6th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery. Following this, the newly-appointed Brigade Commander signed an official document, symbolizing his acceptance of the new office amidst the chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha.
Later, he planted a sapling, participated in group photographs, addressed the troops, and engaged with them during an all ranks tea. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks also attended these events.
