On 28 February 2024, a sudden fire erupted at the Gragin Pipeline Yard - Kaduwela, owned by BSP Mendis and Company (Pvt) Ltd., prompting a rapid emergency response. Under the instructions of the Commander of 141 Infantry Brigade, 07 X 57 troops from the 8th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, joined forces with the Colombo and Gampaha Fire Brigades to tackle the blaze.
Their coordinated efforts, under the leadership of the Commanding Officer of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry , successfully contained the fire, ensuring safety and security in the area.
