Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Commander Security Forces (West), undertook a field visit to the Battalion Training School Panaluwa to gain first-hand insights into the operational advancements and developments at the nascent Battalion Training School of Security Forces (West) on 26 January 2024.
Thereby, the visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of the Battalion Training School Panaluwa Colonel H M P Herath RSP and a comprehensive briefing was conducted by the Chief Instructor of the Battalion Training School Lieutenant Colonel B S K Jayasundara GR During the visit, he paid close attention towards several key factors that would impact the success of the deployment of the Battalion Training School. Specifically, he was keenly interested in the existing structures and facilities at the location, including the training grounds, administrative buildings, and accommodation facilities. He also evaluated the accessibility and security of the area.
In addition, he also passed down the necessary instructions to the responsible officers on the continuation of the constructions of the Battalion Training School. Further, he emphasized the importance of effective coordination and cooperation between ground troops and different branches of the Security Forces (West) during the process.
