COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) JOINS THE OPENING ADDRESS FOR BATTALION TRAINING COURSE- 8 BATTALION OF SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT

The inauguration of the battalion training course of 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment commenced the Battalion Training Course with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (West) at 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment premises at Beragala Kegalle on 28 November 2023. The training course, which basically designed with the intention of filling up the gaps and widen the knowledge of relevant Officers and Other Ranks in the Battalion Training Course began after the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu delivered the opening address.

Accordingly, the course is consisted with the participation of 09 Officers and 267 Other Ranks, 4 Officer Instructors and 33 Other Rank Instructors from the Battalion Training School, Panaluwa. Afterwards, the Commander Security Forces (West) did not forget to visit the 611 Infantry Brigade and thereby, a comprehensive briefing was conducted by the Commander 611 Infantry Brigade.

Later, the visiting Commander was invited to plant a sapling at the 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment premises to mark his arrival. General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division Major General R A J N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, the Commander of 611 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K G C M N Gamlath RSP USP, Brigadier General Staff Brigadier K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier A M R Abeysinghe and Commanding Officer 8 Battalion of Sinha Regiment Major S K L P N Silva RWP RSP USP accompanied the Commander during the visit.
