A medical camp was collaboratively organized by the 61 Infantry Division, 613 Infantry Brigade headquarters along with 9 Sinha Regiment and 3 (v) The Gemunu Watch to coincide with the 11th anniversary of Security Forces Headquarters (West) in support of the Thihagoda Community. The event received assistance from doctors associated with the Postgraduate Professional Counseling Services Association of the University of Colombo, along with a medical team from Army Hospital, Narahenpita and Laboratory services of Asiri Hospital. This program was conducted under the guidance of Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commander Security Forces (West), the project aimed to improve health and sanitary standards of people in the divisional secretariat area of Thihagoda due to bad weather condition affected to above area in last few months. It was held at the Primary School in Thihagoda on 18th November 2023.
Thereby, the people benefitted from examining patients and issuing medicines, including services such as Eye clinic, Dental Clinic, Physiological Counseling, Family Counseling, Business Counseling, and Ayurvedic Medical Service. Additionally, ration packs were distributed among 100 pregnant mothers belonging to low-income families in the area.
