After assuming duties as the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General R A J N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndu made his maiden official visit to 611 Infantry Brigade and their under-command Battalions on 31st August 2023.
During the visit, the Brigade Commanders and the Commanding Officers in the respective camps warmly welcomed the visiting General Officer Commanding after he was saluted with Guard Turnout on the arrival in accordance with military formalities.
Similarly, to make his first visit memorable, the General Officer Commanding was invited to plant saplings inside the camps’ compounds and received comprehensive briefings, presented by the respective Brigade Commanders and the Commanding Officers on their operational and administrative matters.
Moreover, General Officer Commanding addressed All Officers and ORs and emphasized some salient aspects regarding discipline and present duties of the soldiers. In addition, he praised the commitment of troops who rendered their potential service in the past directed them to render their invaluable service in the future too.
Several staff officers of 61 Infantry Division Headquarters accompanied the General Officer Commanding during the visit.
