From 03 to 05 August 2023, the Army personnel of Sector 08 of the 142 Infantry Brigade under Security Forces (West) showcased their unwavering commitment to public safety by actively participating in a dengue prevention campaign.
This project, organized by the respective MOH office, focused on the Piliyandala area, aiming to combat the ongoing dengue epidemic. The Army personnel collaborated seamlessly with Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) and Police personnel, displaying their determination to protect the community.
During this community project, Army personnel collaborated with other participants to carry out various tasks. Their primary responsibilities included raising awareness among the community about the importance of maintaining a clean environment, conducting inspections to identify potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes, and assisting in the removal of stagnant water sources.
Commander 142 Infantry Brigade and Commander Sector 08 closely supervised the Army’s contribution to this tamely important community project with the blessing of the Commander Security Forces (West).
