In parallel to the Esala poya day, As per the directions given by the commander Security Forces (West), Army personnel of 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) contributed their assistance by providing chefs and cooking facilities to a Bath Dansala that was organized by Sadaham Sisila Buddhist Association, Kelanimulla on 01 August 2023.
This noble assistance was a compassionate initiative aimed in providing a service to the devotees who visited the area on this auspicious day.
The involvement of the Army personnel in this event showcases their commitment to serving the community and upholding the values of compassion and selflessness. By providing chefs and cooking facilities, they ensured that the devotees at the Kelanimulla Sadaham Sisila Buddhist Centre were able to partake in a wholesome meal during their visit.
Commander 144 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry closely monitored the Army’s contribution to this noble task.
