WEST TROOPS ASSIST IN TRAINING A PARADE FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

In response to the request made by the Royal College, Colombo, Army personnel from 21 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 7 Battalion Gemunu Watch, 14 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 7 (v) Battalion Gajaba Regiment of the 142 Infantry Brigade under 14 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West) lent their contribution by training students of Royal College, Colombo, for a formal parade from 17 to 27 July 2023.

The training sessions were conducted in preparation for the annual sports meet of the Royal College, Colombo, during which a formal parade is traditionally held. The Army personnel worked closely with the students, imparting their knowledge and expertise in marching and parade formations.

At the same time, collaboration between the school staff and the Army personnel proved to be a valuable opportunity for the students to learn discipline, teamwork, and precision. Under the guidance of Army personnel, the students were able to enhance their skills and develop a sense of pride and confidence.

Further, the respective Commanding Officers and the Commander 142 Infantry Brigade closely monitored the Army’s contribution with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces (West).
