The 10th agricultural knowledge improvement and leadership development programme, themed ‘Haritha Niyamuwo’ was organized by the Wayamba Training Institute in collaboration with the troops of the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard of 143 Infantry Brigade under Security Forces (West) on 01 July 2023 at Wayamba Training Institute premises in Wariyapola in order to encourage the students to contribute to the world food safety programmes of the next generation.
Accordingly, 71 students from both Wellawa Central College and Kumbukgahamulla Sri Bodhi Central College participated in this awareness workshop. Throughout the programme, troops played a vital role in making this workshop successful. They provided physical training instructors and conducted leadership sessions that included both theoretical and practical group activities for the students. This ensured that the students gained a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and were able to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.
Meanwhile, the Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard closely monitored the Army's contribution to this programme on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces (West).
