Mrs. Himali Pussella, the Spouse of Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP, took office as the 12th Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Unit on 21 June 2023, at Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Headquarters, after Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP assumed duties as the 16th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps.
She served as the Chairperson of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit before she assumed the responsibilities as the new Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Unit. Further, as the spouse of Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP, Mrs. Pussella has had extensive experience in military life and understands the unique challenges faced by military families. Her tenure as the Chairperson of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit has given her valuable insights into the needs of military families and how best to support them.
Mrs. Pussella's appointment comes at a time when the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Unit is facing numerous challenges. The role of the Seva Vanitha Unit is to provide support and assistance to the families of Army personnel, and Mrs. Pussella's leadership will be crucial in ensuring that this vital service is delivered effectively.
The day’s ceremony marking Mrs. Pussella's appointment was attended by a range of individuals, including Members of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Unit, Senior Officers, and Officers. Moreover, Mrs. Himali Pussella also serves as the senior member of Viru Kekulu pre-school Panagoda.
