The 143 Infantry Brigade Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ Mess was officially inaugurated on 18 June 2023, marking the culmination of a 16-month project. The ceremony was attended by Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP, Commander Security Forces (West), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Commander 143 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier T.M.F Kitchilan RWP RSP.
The project was initiated in February 2022 by Brigadier T.M.F Kitchilan RWP RSP, with the aim of providing a modern and comfortable living space for the Warrant Officers and Sergeants of the 143 Infantry Brigade. The task was undertaken by troops from the 143 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, 16 Battalion Gajaba Regiment and 1 Sri Lanka National Guard, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the project was completed to the highest standards.
Further, this newly constructed Sergeant Mess boasts a spacious dining hall, bar facilities and a TV room, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment for the Warrant Officers and Sergeants of the 143 Infantry Brigade.
