61 INFANTRY DIVISION LAUNCHED ANOTHER NOBLE PROJECT FOR STRANDED CHILDREN OF ARMY PERSONNEL

Army personnel of 61 Infantry Division Headquarters organized another noble project for the betterment of two personnel who are serving at the Divisional Headquarters by providing a wheelchair for a differently abled child of a civilian lady and donating a stock of school accessories, approximately worth of Rs 90,000.00 to a soldier who has five children on 22 March 2023 respectively.

In line with the project, Mr. Jeewan Prabath Liyanage and his supporters funded the wheelchair, while Mrs. Nipuni Upendra, a teacher at D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo sponsored the school accessories. By the way, the Civil Affairs Officer of 61 Infantry Division, Lt. Colonel J E L De Zoisa, coordinated the sponsors and beneficiaries for this charitable event as per the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General H M U Herath RWP RSP USP hdmc psc.

Further, this programme has been launched with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP and it was attended by the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, several Senior Officers and the sponsors.
