A training workshop on the topic of 'Leadership' was conducted for 25 junior prefects on 08 March 2023, at the school premises of Hewawitharana Maha Vidyalaya, Welikada, by Army personnel of 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 144 Infantry Brigade of 14 Infantry Division at the request of the principal and the staff of the school.
With the blessings of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, it was meant to cultivate and increase their leadership qualities, enabling them to face challenges and develop their talents and skills with discipline. The programme got underway under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K M V Kodithuwakku.
Accordingly, Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry successfully launched the workshop which included physical exercises, lectures, discussions, several entertainment events and other group training activities.
Similarly, the Commanding Officer of 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry closely monitored the day’s project by giving necessary directives. Further, culminating in the programme students were also awarded with certificates.
