Since the amount of blood required for the hospitals in the 613 Infantry Brigade area is insufficient, a contingent of Army personnel belongs 3 (v) Battalion Gamunu Watch under the 613 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) have donated their blood at the Regional Blood Centre, Kamburugamuwa on 15 February 2023.
In response to a request of the Regional Blood Centre, Kamburugamuwa, the arrangement was made possible with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces (West) and General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division. Altogether one Officer and 30 Other Ranks willingly participated in this blood donation programme.
Commander 613 Infantry Brigade, along with the Commanding Officer of 3 (v) Battalion Gamunu Watch, closely supervised the Army’s contribution.
