With the intention of speeding up the island-wide National Dengue Prevention Campaign that is being implemented these days, the Army personnel serving under 14 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West) have to provided their contribution to another Dengue prevention programme during 6 – 11 February 2023 covering several areas of Attanagalla and Kotikawatta Divisional Secretariats after many cases were reported.
This timely important programme was organized by the respective divisional secretariat offices and MOH offices in collaboration with the Security Forces Headquarters (West). Army personnel from 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery of 141 Infantry Brigade and 2 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry of 144 Infantry Brigade, together with Police personnel, several medical officers and Public Health Inspectors, eagerly participated in this programme.
Through this programme, houses, government institutes, private sector and religious places, schools and other public places were inspected by the members of the programme and the people were educated on the dengue epidemic and its spread.
On the direction of the Commander, Security Forces (West), Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers of respective areas closely supervised the Army’s dedication.
