A programme to distribute a large number of school accessories, including equipment, exercise books and other stationery items, the total worth of Rs. 488,000.00 among 130 school students at Dadagamuwa Kanishta Vidyalaya, situated in Veyangoda, got underway on 24 January 2023, consequent upon proper coordination effected by 6 Field Sri Lanka Artillery under the 141 Infantry Brigade belongs to 14 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West).
This community project has been organized under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and close supervision of the Commander, 141 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier L G B Kariyawasam RWP RSP USP, with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP.
Sponsors and donors for this noble project have been coordinated by the 141 Infantry Brigade and 6 Field Sri Lanka Artillery with the instructions of the Security Forces Headquarters (West). Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP, the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, hoisted the distribution as the chief guest on behalf of the Commander Security Forces (West).
Meanwhile, the participants of the day’s event also witnessed several entertainment programmes which were presented by the school teachers and students. Further, teachers and children expressed their gratitude to the organizers, sponsors and the donors for their generous donation, which is required for effective learning.
The event was attended by the Commander, 141 Infantry Brigade, several government officials, senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Principal and teachers.
