In parallel to the 75th Independence Day, Security Forces Headquarters (West) launched a Blood Donation Campaign in collaboration with National Blood Transfusion Services, Narahenpita, at Sri Bodhirajaramaya Army temple premises on 23 January 2023.
This noble project has been organized as per the directions promulgated by the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP and the collective effort of all the Army personnel working in the Security Forces Headquarters (West).
Almost 300 Army personnel working under Security Forces (West), including Divisions, Brigades, Regiments and Battalions were donated their blood. Further, all the Officers and Other Ranks showed great enthusiasm in donating their blood for this noble event.
During the campaign, the Commander Security Forces (West) made a visit to the location and evident that the programme was in operation enthusiastically. He took time off to share few thoughts with blood donors and the medical staff of National Blood Transfusion Services, Narahenpita at the location. Brigadier Admin and Quartering SFHQ (West), Brigadier General Staff SFHQ (West), a few Senior Officers and Other Ranks were also presented during the visit of the Commander, Security Forces (West).
Furthermore, the support rendered by the Army personnel of Security Forces Headquarters (West) to uphold the standard of the blood donation campaign is highly appreciated by the staff of the National Blood Transfusion Services, Narahenpita and they expressed their gratitude towards the blood donors during this time of need.
