WITH A SPONSOR'S SUPPORT, ARMY PERSONNEL PROVIDED MILK POWDER PACKETS TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN COLOMBO DISTRICT

605 low-income families residing under 06 Divisional Secretariats in Colombo District have been donated Milk powder packets with the sponsorship provided by Fonterra Brands Lanka Company Ltd from 15 to 21 December 2022.

The donation programme was coordinated by the Green Agriculture Operation Centre and Security Forces Headquarters (West), as well as all the necessities had been properly arranged at the distribution locations by the Army personnel of Security Forces (West) on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, along with the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP.

Meanwhile, all the distribution events were conducted under the close supervision of the Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces (West), Brigadier K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc, with the assistance of respective Brigade Commanders and the Commanding Officers of 14 Infantry Division of the Security Forces (West). The selection of low-income families was coordinated by the particular Grama Seva officials and District Secretariat officials in collaboration with Security Forces Headquarters (West).

Through this programme, 1210 milk powder packets have been distributed, including two packets per family. Furthermore, this programme is going to be continuously carried out, covering Colombo District during the next few days as well.
