A school accessories distribution programme among the needy 21 students at Buddhini Preschool located in Tabbowa village of Puttalam district was conducted on 03 December 2022 with the coordination of Army personnel belonging to 143 Infantry Brigade and 16 Battalion Gajaba Regiment of Security Forces (West) at School premises.
This noble event was organized on the direction of the Commander Security forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP along with the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and patronage of the Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier T M F Kitchilan RWP RSP under the close supervision of the Commanding Officer of 16 Battalion Gajaba Regiment, with the generous sponsorship of Mr. Tishan Rambukwella and his family members.
Through this programme, seventeen children who are eligible to enter the grade one and four children who are going to have the pre school education in the year 2023 have been benefited with school bags that includes a complete book set with necessary stationaries and prizes prior to the Christmas Day celebration. Apart from that, Army personnel also arranged to provide a delicious lunch for the school children coming to the culmination of the programme.
Besides the distribution programme, participants witnessed entertainment events, which consisted of dancing, singing and various segments that were presented by the children of the school, along with the children's favorite Santa Claus.
The event was attended by Commander 143 Infantry Brigade, the Commanding Officer of 16 Battalion Gajaba Regiment senior officers, officers, Other Ranks and the school staff.
