A request made by the Disaster Management Centre –Colombo, a contingent of Army personnel from 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) to assist in clearing bamboo bushes that stuck on a pillar of the ‘Podi Palama’ that was built across the Kelani River in Nawagamuwa and Mapitigama on 12 November 2022.
This project was carried out under the supervision of the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade and it was directed by the Commander Security Forces (West). Further, the police personnel of Nawagamuwa police station have also contributed to complete this task successfully.
