The Master General Ordnance and overlooking Quarter Master General, Major General W M R W W H J B Wanigasekara USP under the guidance of the Commander of the Army undertook a courtesy visit to Security Forces Headquarters (West) and 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 27 October 2022 in order to address matters pertaining to administration, quartering and logistics of the respective Army camps.
According to the directions of the Commander, Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, the visit was coordinated by Brigadier D A Amarasekara USP, Brigadier Admin and Quartering together with Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc of Security Forces (West).
Initially, Major General W M R W W H J B Wanigasekera USP visited Security Forces Headquarters (West) at Army Cantonment, Panagoda and thereby, the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, Brigadier Admin and Quartering and Brigadier General Staff warmly welcomed the Master General Ordnance to the camp premises.
After that, he participated in a conference which was organized by the Security Forces Headquarters (West) with the patronage of the Commander Security Forces (West) at the Conference Hall of the Security Forces Headquarters (West). During the conference, it was discussed salient factors pertaining to the administration and logistics matters in the AOR including the progress of land acquisition (Proposed Lands for Re-deployment), official railway warrants/bus passes, capital works requested for the year 2022/2023, A & I/Maintenance services, vehicle requirements, fuel issues (vehicles/machinery, Liberty services/School Services), ration issues, requested capital items (equipment/machinery), sanitary facilities, vehicle services/maintenance and repairs etc. General Officer Commandings of 14 and 61 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, respective Commanding Officers and several Senior Officers of Security Forces Headquarters (West) participated at the conference.
In the second segment of the day's itinerary, Master General Ordnance visited the 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry located at Delgoda. Thereby, he was greeted with a drive pass. Subsequently, he inspected several key places in the camp premises and interacted with the officers and Other Ranks. Further, he instructed respective key appointments holders to focus more attention towards the maintenance that paved path for the standard of the camp premises.
The Commander Security Forces (West), General Officer Commandings, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Brigadier General Staff, respective Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and several staff Officers of Security Forces Headquarters (West) accompanied the Master General Ordnance during the visit.
