Kamburupitiya - Mulatiyana road in Matara District under 613 Infantry Brigade, belongs to Security Forces (West) AOR were flooded and submerged under 2 2/1 feet of water on 02 August 2022 due to heavy rainfall. Therefore, it led not only the patients and their relatives also the hospital staff into great inconvenience once they are going to Handapana General Hospital – Kamburupitiya.
Accordingly, as per the request made by the director of Handapana General Hospital, the Commander 613 Infantry Brigade swiftly provided Army personnel with vehicles of 613 Infantry Brigade to arrange needy transportation facilities from Kamburupitiya town to Handapana General Hospital to bring back their lives to normalcy.
In such a situation, ordinary civilians are full of praise the Army for their extraordinary assistance.
