Troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 141 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) assisted in clearing an uprooted tree which has been fallen on to Siriwardhana Road near to Ranawiru Sewana, Ragama due to heavy rain and strong wind that intermittently lashed the area disrupting the transportation for hours.
8 battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry actively contributed assistance deploying an evacuation team including an officer and ten Other Ranks in liaison with the troops of Sri Lanka Navy and officials of Ragama Pradeshiya Sabha in clearing the tree from the road.
