Troops of 8 Battalion Gamunu Watch under the 611 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) assisted in clearing a Bo tree in front of the Rathnapura New Town Courts Complex which had fallen on the Rathnapura–Colombo main road on 17 March 2022 due to heavy rains.
The incident disrupted traffic on the Rathnapura–Colombo main road and one Officer and 30 Other Ranks of 8 Battalion Gamunu Watch actively contributed their assistance in clearing the Bo tree from the road.
