WEST TROOPS EXTINGUISH BUSH-FIRE AT DANAWKANDA FOREST

8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops under command to the 141 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division under the Security Forces Headquarters (West) took prompt action to extinguish a bush fire that erupted inside the Danawkanda Forest in the Keragala area due to dry weather on Tuesday afternoon (8).

The spread of the bush fire was suppressed by the troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the close supervision of the Commanding Officer of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the direction of the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade. Further high-tension electric lines were also threatened and troops were able to recover them by prompt and appropriate initiatives and actions.

One Officer and 45 Other Ranks provided their expeditious assistance to douse the fire.
