NEW 61 INFANTRY DIVISION COMMANDER ASSUMES OFFICE

Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc assumed office as the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division on 21 December 2021.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division was awarded with a Guard Turnout soon after his arrival at the premises, in accordance with military traditions by the troops of the 14 (V) Battalion Gamunu Watch.

Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc placed his signature on the first official document to mark the assumption of duties, amidst the chanting of Seth Pirith, in the presence of the Brigade Commanders of 611 and 613 Infantry Brigades, Commanding Officers of under command battalions of 61 Infantry Division, and Officers of the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters.

Thereby, the General Officer Commanding attended for a group photograph to mark his inauguration, and a sapling was planted in the camp premises. Afterwards the General Officer Commanding addressed all ranks serving under the 61 Infantry Division, and explained his vision.
