A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour offered by troops of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in keeping with military traditions, saluted the out-going Commander Security Force (West) Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu at the Security Force Headquarters (West) – Panagoda on 15 December 2021.
Afterwards, out-going Commander participated for all Rank Tea and interacted with Officers and Other Ranks. Subsequently, he addressed the troops and thanked all for the generous assistance and support extended to him to perform tasks during his tenure as the Commander Security Forces (West). Simultaneously In keeping with military traditions, Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (West) Brig R W Ponnamperuma RSP psc presented a memento to the out-going Commander Security Forces (West) in appreciation of his services to the Security Force Headquarters (West). In the afternoon, a farewell lunch at the Security Force Headquarters Officers' Mess, attended by all Senior Officers and other distinguished guests.
The proceedings reached the culmination with the departure of the out-going Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, from the Security Force Headquarters (West) in a street line greeting, amidst good wishes of all ranks in the Security Force Headquarters (West).
The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division Major General D G Hewage RSP, Brigade Commanders of under Command Brigades, Commanding Officers of Affiliated Battalions, Staff Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) were present at the ceremony.
