SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (WEST) CONDUCTED A TRAINING DAY PROGRAMME WITH THE MONTHLY FLAG HOISTING CEREMONY

As per the directions of the Commander Security Forces (West) conducted wednesday training programme in parallel to the monthly flag hoisting ceremony on 1 December 2021 at Security Forces Headquarters (West).

The Training Day commenced with a Physical Training session and monthly flag hoisting ceremony. The Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu , together with the Brigadier General Staff Brigadier R W Ponnamperuma RSP psc and Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier G D R U Galhenage hoisted the National flag and the Army flag respectively. Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks participated at the event and similarly, the national anthem and the Army song were played. Afterwards, Drill session was conducted for the other ranks by the Regimental Sergeant Major Security Forces Headquarters (West).

Afterwards the Commander Security Forces (West) conducted a fruitful discussion on Leadership covering important points such as Level of command, method of influencing, Compliance and Commitment etc. Senior officers, officers and other ranks of Security Forces Headquarters (West). participated to the discussion and got further knowledge on leadership strategies and its importance specially as military personnel. Twenty officers and fifty other ranks participated to the day’s programme adhering to the health guidelines given by the health department for COVID - 19 pandemic situation.
