Troops of the 3 Gemunu Watch of the 613 Brigade under command to the 61 Division of the Security Force HQ-West during 28-29 May 2021 cleaned Weligama and Mirissa coastal belt areas, affected due to debris of the damaged 'X Press Perl' container ship a few days ago.
Troops carried out this programme on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army under the supervision of Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander Security Forces-West.
Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku, Commander 613 Brigade also closely supervised the project.
