On the directions of Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces – West, with the supervision of Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, a two day workshop was conducted at the Galle harbour premises in line with the readiness of troops for any disaster situation.
The workshop was conducted by the instructors of Southern Naval Command with their resources. During the workshop, 18 soldiers were trained on use of out boat motors (OBM) in disaster operations, embussing and debussing drills and managing technical issues of boats.
