The official visit of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General K W R de Abrew RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc to 61 infantry division and 14 (V) GW took place on Wednesday (24).
The first half of the day was spent at the 61 Infantry Division where he was warmly welcomed by Major General D G Hewage RSP, General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division upon arrival at the entrance and he was greeted by a Guard Turnout. Followed by a formal briefing by the General Officer Commanding, a camp visit and planting of a sapling were included in the day's programme.
After signing the visitors’ book; remarking his visit to the division, Commander SF- West visited the headquarters 14(V) GW and the Commanding Officer made a short briefing on the deployment. After words commander visited the 'B' Coy of 14 (v) GW at Walahanduwa and Quarantine Center at Ruhunu National College of Education before his departure.
