Extending the warm and best wishes to all Officers and Other Ranks for the Year 2020, the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General Mahinda Mudalige made his presence for the occasion of flag hoisting to mark the dawning of the New Year 2020.
The formal function was held infront of the main office complex of Headquarters Security Force (West) and there the Commander Security Forces (West) gathered in hoisting the National Flag which was followed by two minutes silence to tribute for fallen war heroes. Then, the Staff Officer II (Administration) Major Sugath Ladduwahetti read out the oath of state service and the message of Commander of the Army in wishing for Year 2020.
Later, the Commander Security Force (West) gathered in an All Rank tea session and there he addressed all troops performing duties at the Headquarters. In his address,Commander extended wishes for them and their families a happy and prosperous New Year
Thereafter,Lio Club donated 500 Mee Saplings and a Stock of Medical Equipments in a simple ceremony held at the SFHQ Premises. The event was graced by the Comd SF-West and Representatives of Lio Club too Attended the Occasion.
Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Uditha Bandara, Brigadier Administration and Quartering Brigadier Mahesh Abeyrathne along with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks performing duties at the Headquarters Security Force (West) made their presence to mark the dawning of the New Year.
