ALL STAFF OF SF HQ (WEST) CELEBRATE THE DAWN OF NEW YEAR - 2019
Security Forces Headquarters (West) during a customary ceremony this morning (1) treated the dawn of the New Year 2019 with the reading of the national service pledge and the Commander’s New Year message.
Major General Sathyappriya Liayanage, together with the Brigadier General Staff of SF HQ (West) Brigadier J Thanthiriwatta RWP, inaugurated the day’s agenda by hoisting the National flag and the Army flag respectively.
Recital of the National Anthem and the Army song in sequence a two-minute silence to honour the memory of fallen War Heroes. Afterwards Major WCD Wickrama RWP RSP SO 2 (A) SF HQ (West) read out the national service pledge in accordance with state sector policies and New Year message of the Commander of the Army.
A newly constructed name board of Security Forces Headquarters (West) and a Guard Turn out dais of SF HQ (West) were declared open by the Commander - SF (West) by highlighting the day’s event.
The day’s programme ended with an interactive All Ranks’ Tea. During refreshments Commander - SF (West) took time off to speak to All Ranks and shared greetings with them.
