On the directions of Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage the Commander Security Force (West), Officers and Other Ranks of SF HQ (West) organized a community-oriented programme at Wilbert Perera Elders ‘Home, Korathota on 01 October 2018 to coincide with the National Elders’ Day.
During the programme, troops carried out a cleaning project and those elderly inmates were cleaned and dressed in new clothes. Similarly, with the support of a group of medical Officers from Panagoda Base Hospital conducted a separate medical clinic.
A Calypso musical group added music rhythms and entertained the inmates before lunch was served. Towards the end of the programme, a large stock of dry rations , Sarongs, Chintz, Soaps, etc were gifted to the inmates by the Officers and troops serving Security Force (West).
Brigadier General Staff SF HQ (West) together with the senior officers, including Brigadier Admin & Quartering, Staff officers, Civil Coordinating Officer and several Other Ranks attended the occasion.
