Military Salute Honours Outgoing SF-West Commander
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) on the eve of his retirement from the Army relinquished the appointment of the Commander, SF-West on Wednesday (24) during a formal military ceremony held at the Security Forces Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) premises in Panagoda.
The formal ceremony greeted him with a Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour presented by the troops of the SFHQ-West after he was warmly received on the occasion by Brigadier Jinendra Thantiriwatta, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-West.
Soon after the salute of the parade was taken, the outgoing Major General Ranasinghe delivered a formal farewell speech to the gathering and acknowledged the support of all the troops given to him during his office.
He also urged the troops to work dedicatedly for the betterment of the organization in the future too and serve the motherland with dedication and discipline.
A fellow refreshment treat and a group photo brought the day's farewell ceremony at the SFHQ-West to end.
