The newly constructed billet (40 x 20 ft) for Other Ranks at the Security Force - West was declared open by Maj Gen Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander Security Force - West on Wednesday (06) by unveiling of a symbolic plaque and cutting a ribbon.
The billet was constructed by the troops of 1 Corps of Engineer Service (CES) and serving troops of SF HQ - West. Total expenditure to erect the billet was nearly 2.9 million.
Officers and group of Other Ranks serving at SFHQ - West were present at the opening ceremony.
At the end of the occasion, Maj Gen Sudantha Ranasinghe extended his gratitude to all who were behind for the successful completion of this project.
