SECURITY FORCE (WEST) CELEBRATE VESAK COMMEMORATIONS
Troops of Security Force (West) organized numerous religious activities under the supervision of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces – West to celebrate the triple anniversary of Lord Buddha – his birth ,his attaining of Enlightenment and his passing away into Nirvana. \r\nThe dealings of Vesak day was commenced with a full day Sil - observance programme at Panagoda Sri Maha Bodhirajarama temple on Vesak Full Moon Day (May 10) by the participation of the troops at Panagoda Army Cantonment and the members of the Army Buddhist Association. The Vesak zone inside the Temple premises was inaugurated in the evening with fascinating Vesak lanterns and other colourful decorations. \r\nIn the meantime, tps serving at the SF (West) including 14 and 58 Divisions have undertaken to mark this Intentional Vesak day by staging elaborate arrangements at the area with the special focus on Sil campaigns, Free eateries (Dansal),Vesak decoration zones and special religious programmes at the Temples. \r\nSF-West troops at the same time contributing to the Bauddaloka Mawatha Vesak arrangements showcased their creative and artistic talents during a separate devotional song recital and accompanying dancing features that remind Buddhists of old life stories of the Enlightened One in the heart of the city.\r\n
