Army Troops Join Hands to Fight Against Dengue Epidemic
Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West), at the request of Health Ministry, is currently conducting a Dengue Prevention Program in Colombo, Matara, Rathnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Puttalam districts with the participation of more than 400 troops serving SFHQ-West.
The project (March 26 - April 1), coordinated through the Office of Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) is closely monitored by Major General U.A.B. Medawela, Commander, SFHQ - West.
Similarly, troops of the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force extending their support have joined hands with Army personnel in Gampaha, Kalutara and Galle districts.
The project expects to cut down the spread of epidemic from the vulnerable areas as projected by respective officers of District Medical Offices.
