Aluthgama Reconstruction & Repairs Work in Full Swing
Members of the Army, now engaged in reconstruction and restoration work in Aluthgama, in the aftermath of recent violent acts, have performed impressively well and are about to complete the assignment in a couple of weeks, Major General U.A.B Medawela, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, West (SFHQ-W) told a media briefing at Aluthgama on Wednesday (30). \r\n\r\nMajor General Medawela who visited Pathirajagoda, Adikarigoda area and its mosque and adjacent areas, together with media personnel, explained them the progress that has been made after the Army took over repair work on the directions of the President. \r\n\r\nHe also mentioned at the media briefing, held in the 53 Division Headquarters at Moragolla, Aluthgama that the Army was successful in erecting a new Bailey bridge over Kaluwamodara, connecting Moragollagama with Kadolanaduwa. \r\n\r\nDue to non-availability of a bridge, thousands of students and civilians underwent hardships in these areas and the Army responding to their request, on the sidelines of reconstruction project, undertook the construction of this much-needed bridge, instead of the existing dilapidated one, the briefing was told. \r\n
