Malwana-Bandarawatta road in Gampaha District, under 141 Infantry Brigade, which belongs to Security Forces (West) AOR, was flooded and submerged under 3 feet of water on 07 September 2022 due to heavy rainfall. Therefore, students who are studying at Al Mubarak School in Malwana have found it difficult to go to school as well as the people living in that area have found it difficult to carry out their day-to-day activities.
Accordingly, as per the instructions given by the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade, swiftly provided a contingent of Army personnel with vehicles from 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry to arrange necessary transportation facilities for the school children from Malwana Raxapana Village to Al Mubarak School.
Further, flood-affected people who live in the same area has been provided with necessary transportation facility in order to overcome the difficulties faced by the affected people.
