As directed by the Commander, Security Forces (West), Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, under close supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division and the troops of 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under command to 611 Infantry Brigade rushed to mitigate a fast-spreading wildfire in the general area Pahala Kadugannawa on Wednesday afternoon, 23 February 2022.
Two Officers and 20 Other Ranks of the 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Fire Brigade and Police personnels of Mawanella rushed to the venue and provided expeditions assistance to douse the fire.
