WEST TROOPS CONTRIBUTED THEIR ASSISTANCE FOR A CLEANNING PROGRAMME

Troops of 14 (v) Gemunu Watch of the 613 Infantry Brigade under command to the 61 Infantry Division of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) cleaned the surrounding of the Lighthouse coastal belt area and walking lanes at Galle Fort, on 18 January 2022.

This programme was carried out on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc together with the Brig Commander of 613 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K A U Kodithuwakku RSP USP IG psc and Commanding Officer of 14 (v) Battalion Gamunu Watch Lt col G H A I Wijerathne RWP RSP. In addition to that, the programme was held in parallel to the 25th anniversary of 14 Battalion Gemunu Watch.

The programme has been coordinated with the assistance of the Municipal Council Galle and the Divisional Secretariat of Kadawath Sathara Galle. More than 120 Army troops actively participated at the event.
