Under the close supervision of the 144 Infantry Brigade, Army troops of 1 Engineer Services Regiment and 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry gave their comprehensive cooperation as well as manpower for the reconstruction of a part of the 60 feet long and 20 feet high retaining wall that had been collapsed recently in the Aruppitiya Sri Shanthi Yogashramaya Viharaya located at Battaramulla.
As per the request made by the incumbent of the temple and with the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) as well as under the guidance of the commander 144 Infantry Brigade, the construction works were launched on 23 February 2023 and completed on 24 April 2023, after the task that continued for nearly 2 months.
Upon the completion of the project, Ven. Moronthuduwe Rahula Thero, the chief incumbent of the Aruppitiya Sri Shanthi Yogashramaya Viharaya, invoked blessings on all Army personnel during a brief oration on 26 April 2023, at the temple premises.
Further, the oration was attended by the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Civil Affairs Officer of 144 Infantry Brigade, Officers, Other Ranks and the members of the Dayaka Sabha.
