One officer and 30 Other Ranks from 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery of 141 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) lent their assistance on 23 July 2023 providing several fatigue parties to prepare a garden containing rare and medicinal herbs in an area of about 06 acres of land at Wataddara Ganekanda Sri Sumanarama Purana Temple, Veyangoda as per the request of the chief incumbent of the temple.
The Army personnel, worked tirelessly to clear the land, prepare the soil, plant rare and medicinal herbs, and establish the necessary infrastructure for the garden to flourish. Their hard work and determination were evident as they meticulously carried out each task, ensuring that the garden would thrive in the future.
Further, this community project was carried out as per the directions of the commander security forces west as well as with the close supervision of the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding officer of 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery. Moreover, the chief incumbent and the local community expressed their gratitude for the selfless service provided by the officers and soldiers.
